Episode 7: Finding Inspiration

We're discussing our primary sources of inspiration, scrapping seasonally, designers we love, favorite idea books, magazines, classes, videos, the pros and cons of online inspiration and more! Plus, we'll tell you what we think is the best way to have a core foundation of where to start when you make a layout. We think this is our best show yet!

Here are three ways to listen...

1) ScrapGals on Podomatic
2) ScrapGals on iTunes

  1. I heart Lisa Dickinson. I think she is one of the only designers who makes me feel like I can accomplish what she's done EASILY with my own papers and her style, I believe, is the style that is mine. I'm still working that out. Nevertheless, when I see her pages, it literally makes me want to jump up and scrapbook. I like that she explains some of the design principles, as well.

Tracie, I too, went through and basically pinned every one of her (Lisa's) layouts. I am currently reading her blog, in complete. (No, you're not the only one who reads a blog from the beginning!)

I really enjoy Nancy Damiano as well. She might be my second fave. I also like what Paige Evans does with her patterned papers, especially using regular-like techniques.

I contacted CZ and asked about her Design Your Life so that I can get more of the basics of scrapbook design down and she said she is working on getting it or a revamp of it on her site.
